Creation
1. We begin,
uncompromisingly, by acknowledging the romantic relationship as it
was originally designed within the Garden of Eden between a husband
and wife. This is the reflection of the heavenly romance that
exists between Christ and His Bride, the Church. Songs. 5:1; John
3:29; John 4:16-18; II Cor. 11:2; Rev. 17:10,
22:17
2. In
order for us to fully comprehend His love, God created man both
male and female in the image of Him; and He granted us full
comprehension of His image while walking daily with us in the
Garden. Genesis 3:8
3.
Consequently, God’s original design for the sexual union between
male and female was greater than just procreation or recreation,
but rather fully expressed the mystical relationship between Christ
and His Church. Genesis 1:27,28; Ephesians 5: 31,32;
I Corinthians 7:1-3
Fall
1. The fall of man destroyed
our understanding of this precious gift of human sexuality, and
apart from Christ, our sexuality became grossly distorted and
incomplete. We began to “exchange the truth for a lie” and we
sought to quench our thirst from the cup of the harlot. Genesis
3:7; Romans 1:23; Rev 18:3
2.
Consequently, “we have exchanged the image of the Immortal God with
that of the image of mortal man” and “our foolish heart” has been
“darkened”. We have been seduced by the immoral woman through
created images, and whether in sight, mind, body, or spirit have
entered into one flesh with her. Proverbs 6:24, 7:13
Romans 1:23,24; I Corinthians 6:16
Redemption
1. Drunken "by her wine of
the passion of her sexual immorality", we have desperately cried
out from captivity to be freed from her bondage and soberly have
heard the call of the Angel "Come out of her, my people". Romans
6:16, 7:24; Revelation 18:4
2.
We confess that we have whored ourselves after images of created
things and believe in Christ’s completed work which has transformed
our whorish depravity into virginal holiness. We have been fully
restored to virginal purity
through Christ’s
finished work on the cross and claim this completed work here and
now in this present time and space. Ezekiel 16:30; Isaiah 1:21;
Jeremiah 3:6; Hosea 4:15; I Corinthians 6:15,16;
II Corinthians 11:2
Consummation
1. Surprisingly, we confess
the Bible invites us to relate to the thief, the traitor, and the
whore, thus transforming our outlook on our life by causing us to
identify with the sinner and continually claim Christ’s finished
work within us. Matthew 11:19; Luke 5:30
2. We confess healing can come to husbands and fathers ensnared by
the seductress images. We believe the wife, whose trust and love
has been ruined by her husband’s infidelity, can have love fully
restored to her husband just as Christ has fully restored her to
himself and causes her to cry out "I am my beloved's and my beloved
is mine." Songs 6:3; Luke 7:36-50; Hebrews
13:4
3.
Just as Christ came to save the immoral woman, to call her to
repentance, and to ultimately transform her into his marvelous
bride; we call all those who are enslaved by harlotry, whether
pornography or other vice, to rise to virtue, to look up from the
City of Man, to proclaim your citizenship in the Heavenly City, and
to dip your cup into the River of the Water of Life which is Jesus
Christ our Lord. Luke 7:36; Hebrews 11: 10,16; Revelation 19:7,
22:17
