New
City Mission was started by Jonathan Smith in 2009.
After spending years struggling with what it means to
be a Christian in a pluralistic American society and
post-modern culture, he decided that it was time to
help others learn about this incredible relationship
called Christianity. Jonathan (aka Smitty, a nickname
first given to him by his sales counterparts) lives
in Orlando Florida. Jonathan decided in May of 2008
to leave his position with Merck & Co. where he
had been a sales professional and corporate trainer
for eight years, to enter into full time ministry, to
begin a conversation with the world about who Christ
is and what He has done for us!
He has
two Bachelor of Art's degrees from the University of
West Florida in the field of Organizational
Communication and Psychology. He also attended
Webster University where he received a Master of
Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing
and Finance. Jonathan has studied theology, biblical
studies, and philosophy at Knox Theological Seminary
and Reformed Theological Seminary.
